Our goal at TMTF is to give underprivileged children in Cameroon an opportunity to have the very basic education so they can fend for themselves in the future. As a well known Cameroon parable states “teach me to fish, do not keep giving me fish so when you are not there to provide the fish, I will fish for myself and not go hungry".
Educating these children is equivalent to teaching them how to provide for themselves regardless of their situations and predicament.
Teach Me To Fish Foundation (TMTF) is a charity set up to create awareness of the importance of education to children in Cameroon. At TMTF we;
Raise money to fund their education.
Sponsor them through school
Provide them with the school needs like uniforms and books
And make sure they study in a safe and secure environment, with a closely monitored progress report per child.
Every child of school-age who cannot afford to go to school but is prepared to succeed in whatever level of education they are in, will have the opportunity to be taken under our tutelage. TMTF provides long-term support to children with financial sponsorship to educate them and prepare them for the challenges of today’s world.
With your help we can continue to sponsor children in Cameroon. We will work with their families and educators to ensure they thrive in their education and in turn enrich their communities and build a stronger country intellectually. An intellectually strong country is an embodiment of strong economic, political, social, technological, and educational environment, which at the moment is very absent.
There are various reasons why children in Cameroon cannot afford to be educated, ranging from poverty to losing their parents/guardians to illnesses such as HIV/AIDS, Malaria, typhoid and a plethora of other diseases whose diagnosis are not medically advanced in the country.
We want every child we sponsor to reach their full potential through long-term aid and support. Every child has the right to the highest standards of education and TMTF is underpinned by these values to make sure this is attained. To protect the rights of every child, and invest in his/her well-being, is the surest way to end poverty and to build peace and security in the world.
With a safe and quality early education, every child has the chance to prosper. Children are citizens of the communities and the societies that they live in. Their education and wellbeing should be given consideration when planning for growth and positive change in their communities and this should not be different for children in Cameroon.
